都心の閑静な住宅地に建つ戸建て住宅の新築プロジェクト。
周辺は密集した住宅地であるが、北側には緑豊かな公園が広がるこの立地性をどのように生かすかが設計当初からの課題であった。
まず、敷地を最大限に活用するため、容積最大のRC造の地上4階建てのボリュームとし、屋上には公園に視覚的に連続する緑化したテラスを配置した。
次に、マッスな建物に対して、公園への眺望を確保しつつ、その他の部分は周辺からのプライバシーを確保するため、意匠・構造・機能を合理的に融合させながら、如何に開口を配置するか検討を重ねた。最終的には、北面とその他の立面は異なる開口の開け方、構造の架構形式を採用し、適材適所の解法をとることとした。
残念ながらプロジェクトは中断することとなってしまったが、建築と周辺環境との関係性を探求したプロジェクトであった。
A new detached house project located in a quiet residential neighborhood in central Tokyo.
Although the surrounding area is densely built, the site enjoys an expansive, green park to the north. From the outset, the key design challenge was how to take full advantage of this unique condition.
To maximize the potential of the site, the building was conceived as a four-story reinforced concrete volume, achieving the maximum allowable floor area ratio. A landscaped rooftop terrace was introduced to create a visual continuity with the adjacent park.
For this solid, mass-like volume, careful consideration was given to the placement of openings—securing views toward the park while ensuring privacy from the surrounding neighborhood. Through an integrated approach that rationally combines design, structure, and function, various strategies were explored. Ultimately, different façade treatments and structural systems were adopted for the north elevation and the remaining elevations, resulting in a context-specific and optimized solution.
Although the project was unfortunately put on hold, it represents an exploration of the relationship between architecture and its surrounding environment.
